Susan McElwain & the SavageHot Dream

Susan has always had an adventurous spirit having travelled the world as a flight attendant for 28 years.   Her life was upended towards the end of 2016 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer that attacks the blood and bone marrow. This was a pivotal moment in her life that Susan viewed not as an ending but as a time for change.

Focusing on her love of food, the kitchen became her “Happy Place” and during the Covid lockdown she obtained a cook’s license via online courses, giving her access to an industrial kitchen. She started to play with a 20-year-old recipe she had for a hot sauce and encouraged by her family & friends, she bottled the first batch and named it SavageHot.

Susan’s next ambition was to see the product on store shelves so with the help of her sister, they came to us, and we set about to commercialize her recipe and get it on store shelves.

We were thrilled to help make Susan’s dream come true, and to be a continuing part of Susan’s food journey! So much so that we decided to take on the distribution of SavageHot products. Now Susan can focus on being the face of her company and the brand ambassador, leaving the messy details to us.
