Original Taco Skillet Nachos

What pleases a crowd more than cheesy Nachos?

  • Ingredients:
  •  1 Tbls Olive Oil, divided
  • 459 g Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Bottle of WD Original Taco Skillet Sauce
  • 1 Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1 Tin of Black Beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 Tin of Peaches & Cream Corn (NOT Creamed Corn), drained and rinsed
  • 3 Cups of grated cheese (it’s best if it’s a mix of Cheddar and Mozzarella)
  • 1 Bag of your favourite Tortilla Chips
  • 1 Tomato, diced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1 Fresh Jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • Sour Cream, Salsa, and Guacamole to serve on the side

 Pre-Heat the oven to 350oF

 Directions:

Start by heating 1 Tbls of the Olive Oil in a skillet over medium heat.  Add the Ground Beef and Diced Onions to the pan and cook until the beef has browned completely, and the onions are translucent.  Add in ½ bottle of the WD Original Taco Skillet Sauce and simmer down until the sauce reduces, stirring occasionally.  Once that is ready, stir in the Black Beans and Corn, and set aside.

Now, build the layers!  Line a cookie sheet or large round baking pan with some Parchment Paper, spread out about ½ the bag of Tortilla Chips, then layer on about ½ of the Taco Beef Mixture, then the tomato, bell peppers, and lastly about 1 ½ Cups of the cheese.  Once that is complete, repeat a layer of chips, taco meat, tomato, peppers, and cheese; lastly, the sliced Jalapeños on the very top.

Once you’ve layered up your Nachos, bake until the cheese melts throughout, about 15 – 20 minutes.

Serve hot out of the oven with Sour Cream, Guacamole, and your favourite Salsa!
